Blast from the past

[Frigging WordPress update is like a total buzz kill..]

So I’m online checking out Britney Spears’ latest offerings on YouTube and LimeWire. Before I get into the story I beg you not to judge me about the Britney Spears thing – I admit to liking cheesy, bubble gum, pop, crap music because it’s catchy… you know.. of course you do.  I KNOW your ass is bopping along to Womanizer; it’s not just me!

So anyways, I come across this video of Britney covering “I Love Rock & Roll”. I got excited and clicked. (If you value your ears, don’t listen to more than 45 seconds of it)

That was so horrible that I had to stop when Britney got to the chorus the first time, just to cleanse my ears with the original Joan Jett version:

*shriek!!!!!* Oh my gawd I miss the 80’s!!! sigh

Just a little more Joan – –

“You took my heart and you took my pride awayayayayayayayayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!”
