Carnival COMING!!

Grenada’s Carnival is next Monday and Tuesday (August 11th & 12th).  If all goes well I hope to have a couple of posts leading up to the celebrations. Meanwhile, here’s a listen to my favorite soca for this year.  For those of you in other islands, remember that “jab-jab” rythym is the hallmark of Grenadian soca, so this doesn’t really sound like Machel Montano/Square One-style music.  Grenadian soca is for “jooking” in the street and chanting for J’ouvert.

EVERYBODY loves this song. The Bean shrieks whenever it comes on the radio.
