The new Grenadian government

Our new ministers were introduced and sworn in today amid breathless anticipation – and a lot of rain! The new government is as follows:

Tillman Thomas – Prime Minister’s Ministry, National Security, Legal Affairs
Nazim Burke – Finance, Economic Development, Foreign Trade, Energy, Co-operatives
Peter David – Tourism and Foreign Affairs
Michael Lett – Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries
Glynis Roberts – Social Services, Ecclesiastical Affairs and Labour
Alleyne Walker – Housing, Lands, Community Development
Patrick Simmons – Youth Empowerment, Culture & Sports
Karl Hood – Health
James Bristol – Attorney General (Yay! A non-partisan, non-politically affiliated Attorney General)
Sen. Glen Noel – Minister of State in Ministry of Housing, Lands and Community Development
Sen. Arley Gill – Minister of State in Ministry Youth Empowerment, Culture & Sport
Sen. Ann Peters – Minister of State in Ministry of Health
Sen. Franka Bernadine – Minister of Education and Human Resources
Sylvester Quarless – Minister of State in Works, Physical Planning & Development, Environment
Michael Church – Minister of State for Trade, Finance, Economic Planning, Energy, Foreign Trade and Cooperatives
Sen. George Prime – Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs
Joseph Gilbert – Communications, Works, Physical Planning and Development, Public Utilities and Environment

Also offered as NDC senators for the Upper House are Dr Pember Braveboy and Mrs Joan Purcell.

Conspicuously absent from the government line-up are loosing NDC candidates Osborne James, Ingrid Rush and Ingrid Jackson. Speculation is that they may be headed for ambassadorial postings.

    Thanks for the news!
Its hard to keep up with Grenada politics in the states. Very informative, and I felt like I was there during the elections.
