Free speech at work

So, in Georgia there a bar owner who is selling t-shirts with an image of a monkey eating a banana, underneath which is written Obama 08.

Norman acknowledged the imagery’s Jim Crow roots but said he sees nothing wrong with depicting a prominent African-American as a monkey.

“We’re not living in the (19)40’s,” he said. “Look at him . . . the hairline, the ears — he looks just like Curious George.”

I doh know nuh. Sometimes we gotta wonder if democracy is a good thing. These people are allowed to vote?
